Angie Embree, Board Member

​

Angie Embree is the Chief Information Officer at Best Friends Animal Society.  After spending 14 years in the telecommunications industry followed by 12 years in higher education at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, Angie gave it all up to come to Kanab to pursue her passion, a career in saving animals.  But, she could not let go of the importance of a quality education in the lives of young people so joined the Kane Education Foundation Board in 2015.  As a technologist, Angie’s passion is STEM – Science, technology, Engineering and Mathematics, especially in encouraging girls to recognize their talents in these areas and pursue the career opportunities that are available to them. 

 

Angie loves spending time with her three dogs, Sebastian, Topper and Sophie, two Standard Poodles and a Great Pyrenees mix, along with her boyfriend Bob.   Angie loves to travel, exploring the incredibly beautiful area locally as well as other areas of the U.S. and internationally.  She loves southern fried seafood and really good pizza, two things she desperately wishes were available in Kanab.  Her favorite movies are Fargo, Jaws, Seabiscuit and Casablanca.
